UISD's Summer Reading Program continues tomorrow, Wed, June 9, 10:00am-12:00pm with the classic, Jack & the Beanstalk. Come hear a book read by Mr H, check out a book, participate in craft time and sign up for a prize! Spread the word and bring a friend! Don't forget to bring back the book(s) you checked out last week!

Due to scheduled power outage, UISD Superintendent’s office will be closed tomorrow, June 3. They will return to the office Friday for normal hours. Miss Patti will be available in the school office 8am-12pm. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Incoming Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, and graduates Utopia ISD will be offering the college readiness TSIA2 tests June 16 & 23 and July 14 & 21st starting at 9 am. The school pays for the first round of tests, if you need to retake any it's $10. Please email Mrs. Kay akay@utopiaisd.net to request a test date, spots are limited. If you wish to take Dual Credit US History, English, Government, Economics, Art, Speech, Psychology, or Sociology you have to pass the reading and writing section. In order to take Dual Credit College Algebra and Computer Science classes you must pass both the reading/writing and math sections. The Dog Days of Summer was a huge success! UISD's Summer Reading Program is off to a great start! Participants enjoyed storytime, crafts, playtime, door prizes and a super special visit from some furry, four legged friends. Join us next Wednesday, June 9th for our Jack and the Beanstalk day.

Returning TRANSFER students: 2021-2022 Application for Student Transfer form is due by June 2. Forms were sent home to all transfer students OR can be found on Utopia ISD website (located under "For Parents" tab). Email, fax, mail or drop off completed forms by next Wednesday, June 2. Contact Mr Hernandez with any questions.

Gym doors will open at 7:00 this evening for graduation ceremonies.

Lost & Found items will be available in the gazebo today during students pick up. All items left after today will be donated.

Calf Relays tomorrow 9:00-12:15. Come out and cheer on our students during their last day of school! Tomorrow's lunch will be served in the concession stand by the track. We will have meal deals available for visitors to purchase if interested. The meal deal for visitors will cost $5.00 and consist of either: 2 BBQ hot dogs or 1 BBQ hamburger, chips, fresh veggies with homemade veggie dip, fruit and drink. See you there!

2021 GRADUATION The Utopia ISD eighth grade promotion/graduation ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the school competition gym. The Utopias ISD senior graduation ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 7:30 PM in the school competition gym. Please note that both ceremonies will be held in the gym. Originally it was planned to hold the ceremonies outside. However, the current weather forecast is calling for rain on Saturday. Friday, May 21st will be Calf Relays. Parents are welcome to attend. Friday is also an early release day. Students will be released and buses will run at 12:52 PM.

POSITION AVAILABLE UTOPIA ISD SUMMER MAINTENANCE POSITION Utopia ISD is seeking to fill a summer maintenance position. Good opportunity for a high school or college student!! Duties will include assisting in summer maintenance work around the campus including, but not limited to, painting, pressure washing, mowing, trimming, moving equipment, cleaning storage buildings, basic use of drills, saws, and other hand-held power tools. Applicants should be available to work Monday through Friday beginning May 24th, 2021 through July 30th, 2021. Pay is dependent upon experience and expertise. Interested individuals may pick up a paper application at the main office located in the Resource Building at 258 School Street. For questions please call (830) 966-1928

Utopia School is very excited to announce plans for our Summer Reading Program: We Like To Read It, Read It! The school library will be open on Wednesday 10:00-12:00, June 2-July 28. Students will bring home a flyer with more information today. We hope to see you there!

The Utopia ISD Memorial Scholarship committee would like to thank Judy Huebner for her many years of service to the committee and the students of Utopia ISD. Mrs. Huebner has served on the committee since its inception approximately 20 years ago. The members would also like to welcome Mrs. Marisa Hathorn as the newest member of the committee. The Utopia ISD Scholarship Fund accepts donations year round. All donations go directly to support Utopia ISD students attending college.

Athletic Banquet Tickets will be PRESALE ONLY before the event. The last day to purchase a ticket will be May 10, 2021. Volunteers are still needed for this event. Please call Amanda McBeth or Gina Smothers if you can help.

Utopia ISD is pleased to announce the top graduates for the Class of 2021. Valedictorian for the Class is 2021 is Kayley Phillippe. Salutatorian is Kyler Keeney. Congratulations to these top graduates and all of the Class of 2021! Utopia's graduation is Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 7:30pm.

CONGRATULATION to Cherish Dunlap for placing 3rd IN THE STATE in Ready Writing! Cherish competed at the State Academic UIL meet this past weekend. Awesome job Cherish and Ready Writing Coach Mrs. Van Pelt! Go Buffs!
