COMMUNITY PRESENTATION
Utopia ISD is researching and asking for input concerning the possibility of moving to a four-day instructional week for the 2023-2024 school year. Many questions and concerns arise from everyone when looking at something of this nature. Therefore, we would like to invite everyone to a presentation on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 6:00 PM in the school cafeteria. The presentation will provide a sample calendar, an explanation of the reasoning behind considering a four-day instructional week, as well as some of the known pros and cons. A question-and-answer session will be provided at the end of the presentation. After the meeting, the link to a comment and opinion survey will be made available via the school information distribution system, posted on the school Facebook page, and the school website.
This presentation, as well as a question-and-answer session and survey, has already been given to school employees. The overwhelming response from the survey was in favor of a four-day instructional week. However, the 2023-2024 school calendar is still in the early planning stages and absolutely nothing has been decided.
